Brad Pitt Gets Candid About His Divorce From Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt is opening up about his split from Angelina Jolie. Aside from the actual divorce they're going through, Brad has also been at the center of plenty of rumors since the break-up, so now he's speaking for himself about the whole situation for the first time.

Brad tells GQ he has been sober for 6 months and it is "bittersweet" because he now has to feel everything again.  He goes on to say that he is "grateful" because these moments are a "huge generator for change" and noting that not relying on alcohol isn't easy.

"This last year, you know—things I wasn't dealing with. I was boozing too much." Pitt explains. "And I'm really happy it's been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I've got my feelings in my fingertips again." He goes on to say that he's discovering "the human challenge." "You either deny [feelings] all of your life," says Brad. "Or you answer them and evolve."

  • As for his break-up from Angelina, Brad says his worry is for their children. "Kids are so delicate. They absorb everything," he notes. "They need to have their hand held and things explained. They need to be listened to. When I get in that busy work mode, I'm not hearing. I want to be better at that."
  • He goes on to say that after being visited by Child Services, he and Angie have been able to work together to "sort it out." "We're both doing our best," Brad adds. "[Divorce] is just an investment in vitriolic hatred. I just refuse. And fortunately my partner in this agrees. It's just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart. So our focus is that everyone comes out stronger and better people—there is no other outcome."
