Just in case you were wondering if it is really a big deal that you're not getting a full night's sleep, the answer is still yes. A new study finds that getting less than 6 hours of sleep a night is just as bad as binge drinking. While we know that lack of sleep can have effects on how mentally sharp you are, as well as some other short term side effects, the new study from health company Medisys found that it can also have long term, cumulative effects on your health & well being, including a higher risk of things like heart attacks, strokes, obesity & depression.
By the way, if you are a parent, just how much sleep have you missed out on since your little bundle(s) of joy was born? Click HERE to calculate it. I figured mine out & it turns out I've missed out on the equivalent of 9 months of sleep between my 2 kids. Why does it feel like much more?!? LOL
