Coming soon to your Facebook account--a new Facebook messenger app designed just for your kids and controlled by you through your Facebook account. That's according to Fox News that says Facebook has put out a preview app that is available to download and check out now. Here's the way it's supposed to work: you download the Messenger Kids iOS app on your child's phone or tablet and when they open it, they'll have access to a list of contacts that you approve. They can send texts, videos, photos or do a one-on-one group video chat; plus, they'll have access to emojis, sound effects, virtual face masks, GIFs, stickers and more--that are all child-friendly AND advertisement free.
Today, we're excited to introduce Messenger Kids, a new app that makes it easier for kids to safely video chat and message with family and friends when they can't be together in person. Messenger Kids is a standalone app that lives on kids' tablets or smartphones but can be controlled from a parent's Facebook account. Whether it's using video chat to talk to grandparents, staying in touch with cousins who live far away, or sending mom a decorated photo while she's working late to say hi, Messenger Kids opens up a new world of online communication to families.
