A new non-profit company in San Francisco called New Story is addressing the homeless problem in a new and exciting way. They've partnered with ICON, a Texas-based builder, and together they've done something revolutionary: used a 3D printer to create a home from scratch in about a day's time.
These small homes are designed to house homeless and endangered families and individuals at a very low cost per home. In fact, New Story and ICON say that they can create these homes for about $4000 each.
The next step for the partnership is taking the technology to impoverished countries.
