Oprah begins by recounting a childhood memory of watching Sidney Poitier win an Academy Award. As she continued, she explains that it is 'not lost' on her that she is the first woman to win the Cecil B. DeMille award (an award that Poitier had also won).
Without spoiling what comes as she continues (if you haven't seen it), Oprah goes on to highlight the current moment women are experiencing across the globe.
The speech is nothing short of inspirational, and you can watch it in it's entirety below...
Because a speech this powerful deserves a standing "O". Congratulations to Oprah Winfrey on her Cecil B. DeMille Award.
