If you hadn't heard, Fergie from the Black-Eyed Peas has gotten a bunch of grief over the past couple of days for her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night.
Well, after all of the backlash, she is finally speaking out about her unique spin on it, releasing a statement to TMZ.
In the statement, Fergie said, “I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
While a l0t of people trashed Fergie's version of the National Anthem, there have been others that point to Roseanne’s intentionally disrespectful version in 1990 as the still the worst rendition ever.
