The University of Florida has come up with a unique way to help feed the hungry--pay for parking tickets with food donations.
That's according to TBO.com that reports that on April Fool's Day, University of Florida president W. Kent Fuchs made the announcement that anyone who had gotten a parking citation on campus within the past year, could wipe the slate clean by donating food to UF's Field and Fork Food Pantry. Initially, people thought it was an April Fool's gag, but as of last Friday, 2,000 tickets had been "paid" with donations, which so far comes to a total of 9,455 cans of food. What a great way to #bNice!
